Today’s podcast episode is about how a passionate career pivot led to helping midlife women lose weight.

My guest today is Heather Awad, MD. Heather is a family doctor in Minnesota who helps professional women over age 50 lose weight for the last time.

She’s also the host of the Vibrant-MD podcast where she discusses weight loss and women’s health.

In Heather’s mid to late 40s she noticed that personally, even though she was eating pretty healthy, the number on the scale started to climb into the unhealthy range. Like so many of us, she tried some diets and yo-yo’d.

Heather eventually researched insulin resistance and realized how important it is for women in perimenopause, menopause, and beyond.  She was so inspired, that it became her passion to bring healthy weight loss to other women with the same issue.
