Welcome to another episode of the Women in the Middle Podcast

Join us today to consider the impact of a powerful and weird little expression commonly used in midlife, “You’re Not Dead Yet.”  It seems so obvious and blunt; however, it’s often the perfect expression to give you a bit of a wake-up call to appreciate how you’re showing up in the world.

In other words, many midlife women actually benefit from hearing the expression because the contrast of being dead vs. being alive is a huge one. Not showing up vs. showing up in the world, retreating vs. leaning in and enjoying life and failing in advance vs. trying new things because you want to are examples of how huge the impact and related awareness can be.

Several quotes are used in this episode to illustrate some interesting concepts to consider when thinking about how you’re showing up in the world. If someone tells you, “hey, you’re not dead yet,” you’re likely to appreciate having thought about these perspectives in a mindful and compassionate way as you explore your WHY in life. You’ll also get to explore the extent to which you’re ready to take more responsibility to create the life you want, on purpose.

Please enjoy this episode!

Suzy Rosenstein Quote (50 Ways to Celebrate Life after 50): Getting older is something my parents didn’t have much of an opportunity to do. They died way too young……As a happily married, midlife mom, I’m extremely aware that I’ve outlived both of my parents and am way older than they ever were. I’ve been on this planet 25 years longer than my mother and 16 years longer than my father. Even though this fact is still sometimes hard for me to believe, I also feel incredibly grateful.
