On today’s episode, you’ll hear a story about becoming a professional collage artist in midlife with guest, Catherine Rains.
I’m sure you’re familiar with the concept of following your heart to happiness. So many things can get in the way of following this path though. Bumps, twists, and turns are along the way. Not to mention your emotions and the need for certainty.
My guest today is Catherine Rains. Until age 33, Catherine often said she didn’t have an artistic bone in her body. She discovered her life calling in the middle of an overwhelming day job, where she created her first collage just to relieve stress.
This simple beginning eventually led to quitting her day gig to manage a thriving art business.
Catherine’s journey took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. This led her back to a day job for the next 10 years, traveling across the US, creating almost no art.
Then, in January 2015, she decided to integrate the day job she loved with the art she could not live without, by setting up an art studio in every hotel she visited and following a structured schedule to fit art back into her life.
As a result of this self-commitment, three years later in 2018, Catherine returned to her greatest passion, art. She’s now once again creating and teaching sacred art full-time.
The story shared today is all about how you really need to trust your journey because clues to your happiness are everywhere. It’s never too late to have more of what you love in your life.
