Welcome to another episode of the Women in the Middle Podcast

Today’s episode is about 4 essential steps to listen to your body better in midlife. It turns out that your body has a lot to say if you’re open to listening. That’s the key. You have to be connected to the sensations in your body and in midlife, a lot can get in the way (especially the way you think) and make this more difficult.

Hear a variety of personal examples that help illustrate this point. In her own words, Suzy was sometimes oblivious to connecting the dots when her body gave her physical clues but nobody was listening as fully as possible. When you don’t listen, you run the risk of missing important clues to your health and welfare; also, you have more difficulty understanding the context of what might actually be going on with you.

The broad range of examples of what kinds of bodily clues you can listen for will make it easier for you to find useful examples from your life too. Sometimes you have thoughts that create feelings in your body; other times your body experiences physical sensations that are important to notice. Being curious will help you get more context so you can do a better job of taking care of yourself.

Learn 4 essential steps to listen to your body better, which include increasing your awareness, developing more self-trust, creating more pauses and space in your life, and coming up with a game plan for decision-making related to taking action.
