When you’re scared in midlife, fear can be interesting…and sometimes even fun.
It felt scary when I thought about doing it over the last few years.
It felt scary when I made a commitment to do it.
It felt scary when I hired help to get it done.
It felt scary when I pressed send and sent it in for editing a couple of days ago.
Yup. It was scary.
But, my friend. It was SCARY GOOD.
FEAR IS GOOD SCARY SOMETIMES.
It was a big ball of scary and fun feelings at the same time.
I wrote a book!
And if you want to feel a whole bunch of feelings at the same time, I suggest that you do this too, lol.
Here’s a little hint about how you might feel if you also decide to write a book.
ALL OF THESE EMOTIONS AND MORE!
I can’t wait to tell you more about my book in the coming weeks.
But for now, I wanted to tell you that I’m “in it.”
I’m feeling all the feels.
But… Even though it’s a little scary, it ALSO feels so good.
That’s the thing about practicing mindfulness skills.
Once you get pretty good at being the “watcher of your thoughts,” you also can get pretty good at feeling fear and doing it anyway. It’s a beautiful thing.
This all reminds me of this quick video I did in a fun little series about a famous song that I loved called “Feels So Good (by Chuck Mangione).”
The video series is called “What’s in Suzy’s Closet?”
This episode is about old concert programs from your youth.
The video is just a fun little aside.
Emphasis on fun!
And I wasn’t scared, but keeping stuff like this for almost 40 years is!
Feelings can be complicated. I’m here for you!
